Breakfast Feeding

Each year, we run a breakfast feeding project for students in Junior High School who are about to do their final exams, the BECE (equivalent to GCSE). For the whole week that they have their exams, they are provided with a filling breakfast at school before they go off to the exam hall. We see breakfast as the most important meal of the day so we want to make sure that they're not going into their exams with rumbly tummies.

This year we were able to feed 92 children with food and drink, such as rice, sandwiches, biscuits, bread, water and hot chocolate. Each day we were at the school by 6am to be greeted by a load of very excited children, eager to see what they were going to be fed that day.

As well as the food project, we give them all a maths set to ensure that they have the equipment needed to achieve good results in their exams.

To provide breakfast for 92 children and give them each a maths set, it costs us 900GHC (less than £150). If you'd like to help us with this project next year so that we can reach more children, please get in touch at pentopaperghana@gmail.com.
