At Pen to Paper Ghana (P2P), we are starting a new initiative called Replacement Wednesdays.
The idea being that, through a few simple ‘swaps’ in your normal Wednesday, you will be able to use your saved pennies and donate to Pen to Paper Ghana, where your donations will go towards ensuring more children escape the tunnel of illiteracy.
Below, we have outlined some of the ‘swaps’ you can do. We are also open to any other ideas, so please do get in touch.
Coffee Replacement Wednesdays
The average cost of a coffee in the UK is £2.50. Swap your Wednesday coffee for an instant brew at home and turn your saved pennies into a £10 a month donation to Pen to Paper Ghana.
Tube Replacement Wednesdays
It costs £2.80 for a single tube ride in London. Swap your Wednesday travel fare for brisk walk between stations, and turn your saved pennies into a £11 a month (or round this up to £15) donation to Pen to Paper Ghana.
Lunch Replacement Wednesdays
For most, the average cost of a weekday lunch is around £5. Swap your Wednesday lunch for a homemade meal, and turn your saved pennies into a £20 a month donation to Pen to Paper Ghana.
Water Replacement Wednesdays
The average cost of a bottle of water is £1. Swap buying a bottle and use a recycled bottle from home, and turn your saved pennies into a £5 a month donation to Pen to Paper Ghana. Not only will you be helping the youth of Ghana, you will also be helping the environment.
To donate, simply reach out to our co-founders via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and specify how much you wish to donate monthly and we will be able to share account details. Or if you prefer, you can set up a donation through PayPal on our website (remember to tick the box that says 'make this a monthly donation').
Help improve literacy for the youth of Ghana and know you are helping improve the lives of many child through a simple ‘swap’. We want to see what you decide to ‘swap’ so please don’t forgot to use our hashtag for any social posts: #p2preplacementwednesday
